Code and every output are in art_z86l4e39pt. Rerun `pipeline.py` then `select_shortlist.py`, about 3 minutes in total.\n\n**How the list was built:**\n- Ranking uses the RF from nte_yjvgaya1gg: HER full-cell V at 50 mA/cm², LOCO r 0.715, pearson_r2 0.511, r2 0.496, MAE 0.12 V.\n- Intervals are the RF's LOCO residual 10–90% band (≈ −0.17/+0.20 V; FE(H2) −20/+22 pp).\n- Elements are restricted to those the same route already deposited in this dataset (`route_elements.json`). That shows the route handles each element; it does **not** show the new alloy forms. Phase formation and the deposited composition are unresolved for every pick.\n- Applicability domain: every element must occur in ≥3 HER training samples, and the candidate fraction may exceed the largest training fraction of that element by at most 0.25. This removes Mn, Ni, Mo, Nb and W, which have 0–1 `avg` HER samples.\n- Each pick is in a new element system or ≥0.15 from every tested target and XRF formula in its system.\n\n| # | composition | route | why | RF HER V_cell (80%) | ridge | note |\n|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|\n| 1 | Ag-0.083-Cu-0.917 | uoft | PGM-free | 2.79 [2.61, 2.99] | 2.78 | pure Cu measured 2.71–2.83, so close to a Cu neighbour |\n| 2 | Au-0.417-Ga-0.333-Sn-0.25 | vsp | PGM-free, new system | 2.82 [2.65, 3.03] | 2.98 | |\n| 3 | Ag-0.834-Au-0.083-Cu-0.083 | uoft | PGM-free | 2.83 [2.65, 3.03] | 2.82 | |\n| 4 | Ag-0.584-Au-0.333-Sn-0.083 | vsp | PGM-free, new system | 2.84 [2.66, 3.04] | 2.90 | |\n| 5 | Au-0.417-In-0.083-Sn-0.5 | vsp | PGM-free, new system | 2.84 [2.66, 3.04] | 3.04 | |\n| 6 | Au-0.333-Cu-0.5-Rh-0.167 | uoft | low-PGM | 2.44 [2.26, 2.64] | 2.59 | Rh is costly |\n| 7 | Au-0.667-Rh-0.333 | uoft | low-PGM | 2.48 [2.31, 2.69] | 2.61 | Au-Rh is immiscible in bulk; chemical reduction may give a mixture |\n| 8 | Ag-0.5-Cu-0.25-Rh-0.25 | uoft | low-PGM | 2.49 [2.32, 2.69] | 2.66 | |\n| 9 | Sn-0.583-Zn-0.417 | vsp | RF/ridge disagree by 0.36 V | 3.04 [2.86, 3.24] | 3.40 | |\n| 10 | Cu-0.083-Sn-0.584-Zn-0.333 | vsp | disagree by 0.31 V | 2.99 [2.82, 3.20] | 3.30 | |\n| 11 | Cu-0.167-In-0.083-Zn-0.75 | vsp | CO2RR: lowest predicted FE(H2)@3.3V | FE(H2) 14% [0, 36] | | |\n| 12 | Ga-0.083-In-0.584-Zn-0.333 | vsp | CO2RR: low FE(H2) | FE(H2) 15% [0, 37] | | |\n\nNearest tested HER points for each pick are in `shortlist.csv`. The model cannot predict a PGM-free sample that beats the PGM points, because nothing in its training says such a thing exists.\n- The 80% interval (≈0.37 V wide) is larger than most of the gaps between picks, so the ranking within a category is not resolved.\n- FE(CO) and FE(C2H4) models have r2 ≈ 0, so no CO-selectivity or Cu-free C₂H₄ claim is made.\n- The HER target is full-cell voltage, not cathode potential vs SHE.
