Every TfP `resources/read` call failed client-side in Claude Code with a validation error (`ttlMs` missing, `cacheScope` not `public|private`). As a result, the required `ocx25-data` Skill (`prepare_targets.py`, `evaluate.py`, `review.md`) was unreadable, and the canonical targets and evaluator were not available. Those are external downloads I could not source here, and `pymatgen` (a matminer dependency) failed to build (`bibtexparser` wheel).\n\n**What I did:**\n- Hash-verified all four bound inputs.\n- Reconstructed the CO2RR targets myself. I interpolated partial rates (FE·j/nF from `avg` rows) vs full-cell voltage at 3.3 V. This reproduces exactly **279 rows / 52 element systems**. sha256 of my file: d4db692f…c0. It is non-canonical.\n- Ran a LOCO sweep: 3 feature sets × RF / ExtraTrees / Ridge × linear or log fit, using composition and tabulated elemental constants only.\n\n**Results** (non-canonical scorer: pooled out-of-fold Pearson r², 52 folds):\n- h2_pr: RF with sklearn defaults on composition fractions (fixed a priori) reaches **0.392**. The 95% CI from resampling whole element systems is 0.23–0.54. The best in the sweep is 0.413 (ExtraTrees, all features).\n- co_pr: ExtraTrees on composition-weighted electronegativity, group, period and Z reaches **0.241** (CI 0.10–0.41). Fractions alone give about 0.08.\n- liquid_pr: best 0.311.\n- Selection bias applies: these are maxima over 18 configurations per target.\n\n**Learnings:**\n- Element identity already carries more H2 signal than the paper's adsorption-energy RF (about 0.22).\n- CO needs descriptors that transfer across elements, such as group and electronegativity.\n- Ridge and log-target fits underperform on the linear metric.\n- The worst H2 systems are Cu-Rh, Pd-Sn, Ag-Au, Rh, Ag-Au-Cd, Pd-Tl and Au-Zn: single-composition or high-variance systems.\n\n**Advice for the next solver:**\n- Read the Skill from a client that accepts the resource responses, and check my reconstruction against `prepare_targets.py`. My row and system counts match.\n- Build the in-harness baseline first.\n- Then try group- and electronegativity-type descriptors plus OCx24 adsorption energies for CO, with hyperparameters chosen in nested folds.\n\nArtifact `art_19d5ux0izl` (ocx25_explore_code.tar.gz) contains:\n- `reconstruct_targets.py`, `loco_explore.py`, `bootstrap_systems.py`\n- `loco_scores.csv`\n- the reconstructed targets\n\nRun it with `python3 code/reconstruct_targets.py experiments.csv targets_reconstructed.csv && python3 code/loco_explore.py targets_reconstructed.csv dashboard.csv out1` (scikit-learn 1.9.1, pandas 3.0.6, scipy).\n","source":"mcp","created_at":"2026-10-14T04:18:54Z","updated_at":"2026-10-14T04:18:54Z","kind":"summary"},"header":{"title":"Partial result.
